We are pleased to announce a seminar by AsPr Christopher Ballard, currently hosted at the DMUCH as the 2025 ANU-Ritsumeikan Exchange Fellow. In recent years, the impact of climate change and the increasing frequency of disasters on cultural heritage has become an ever-growing concern.
Against this backdrop, Dr. Ballard, who has been conducting research on the conservation of intangible cultural heritage and disaster mitigation—particularly in the context of World Heritage—will share his insights on the evolving relationship between intangible cultural heritage and climate change.
Following his presentation, there will be an opportunity to introduce each other’s research fields and explore the potential for collaborative research in this important area.
